'Council
pull plug on Dice 2 Mice Festival'
The Dice 2 Mice Festival
charity event had its entertainment license application rejected
by Wirral Borough Council on 14th July 2003 following last minute
objections from the statutory sector. This means that Dice 2 Mice is now
cancelled for 2003!
A spokesperson
for Dice 2 Mice said, “The Dice 2 Mice Festival team are devastated by the
news. This is a tremendous disappointment to everyone involved with
the event. Dice 2 Mice had a great line-up of artists and wonderful ethics
with profits going to charity. We know from the feedback that we
have received that thousands of people were looking forward to the
event and we are very sorry to disappoint them.
Dice 2 Mice is a ‘not
for profit’ company so the coordinating team have worked unpaid
on the project because they sincerely believed in the ideal of the
festival. The associated charities put in funding to get the event
off the ground. We are baffled that, after 12 months of negotiation
and regular meetings that this could happen.”
We are considering
a new festival in the future in the meantime we have arranged for
all ticket holders to be refunded from
the Box Office online master degree counseling from which they originally bought their tickets.
